Ginger in tea: effects on the body and benefits during a water diet

Ginger tea is often used during so-called “water diets”, but its effects on the body require a precise understanding.
Ginger contains biologically active compounds (in particular gingerols), which:
– stimulate digestion,
– improve blood circulation,
– can reduce nausea and the feeling of cold.

During short-term fasting, ginger tea does not contain calories and does not cause a significant increase in glucose levels; therefore, from a formal point of view, it does not interrupt a water fast.

However, there are important caveats:
– Ginger stimulates the secretion of gastric juice, which can cause discomfort or dizziness on an empty stomach.
– It can lower blood pressure.
– In people with diabetes or a sensitive nervous system, it can increase the heartbeat.

Сonclusion:
Ginger tea may be acceptable in very moderate amounts (weak infusion) during a water diet, but is not necessary and is not suitable for everyone. For people with diabetes and unstable blood pressure, it should be used with caution or avoided.

This is part of a bigger system.
